How exciting! Oilo was featured on the popular HGTV blog, Design Happens this week in an article titled, Online Obsession for Nursery Design: Oilo Studio written by Brian Patrick Flynn. Brian is an interior design expert- known in the design field for his bold use of color and graphic statements. His indoor and outdoor spaces are often featured in leading American home and garden publications, he is a featured HGTV blogger, and you may also know him from HGTV’s series, Decorating Cents. We were thrilled to get a fantastic review from such a design pro!
Here’s a bit of what Brian had to say about our products:
“…When it comes to baby rooms that break the mold, those outfitted with shades of green, grey and/or taupe are fresh, surprisingly classic and also pretty darn adaptable; all three colors can grow with a child, and take on totally different characteristics — both feminine and/or masculine. “When it comes to original prints, Oilo Studio has it down to a science. Their patterns are medium to large in scale, super easy for a baby to read from different vantage points in a room.”

"It makes a great throw blanket for the chair or back of the couch as well as a play blanket for the kids. The blanket is versatile and functional not to mention gorgeous! It holds up well to the wear and tear of being a play blanket and still keeps its quality and beauty. This is one of my must haves for every new mom. While the cost might be a bit higher it is well worth it because I know this blanket will last for generations to come and its multiple uses make it a fantastic buy.

Happy Holidays from all of us at Oilo to you and yours! We hope you and your families find yourselves happy, safe, and healthy this holiday season!
Unfortunately, in the midst of holiday cheer… the risk of illness and RSV in infants is particularly heightened this time of year. Recently, Growing Your Baby posted some of their recommendations for preventing RSV this season. We highly recommend reading the article in its entirety here. You’ll find, that in addition to encouraging good hand washing practices, they also highly suggest using an infant seat cover- such as Oilo’s new Car Seat Canopies. Using an infant seat cover can help to prevent strangers from touching your newborn, shield infants from coughs & sneezes, and can block wind and cold weather. With Thanksgiving in the recent past, and plenty of holidy parties around the corner… thoughts of good mannered toddlers have been frequent on my mind. What should I be expecting of my two –and-a-half-year- old as we sit down to eat at grandma’s house? How should I handle the situations when my toddler is less than warm when greeting family and friends?
I so love that Stroller Traffic was on the wavelength as me about this with their recent article, Rules of Civility…10 Things to Know about Toddler Manners. I love the simplicity of this article, and the reality of what we can legitimately expect from our toddler-aged crowd. You can read the article here.
I don’t know a parent who doesn’t strive for their children to be nice, polite, and well mannered. I suppose in my digestion of this article and in recent thinking- I’ve come to the conclusion that the cold hard fact is that children are learning these behaviors more from watching the example of their parents and less from an innate “nice” gene. Repetition and consistency of good behavior seem to be the ultimate keys here…a good reminder for us parents who expect so much of our little ones… and tend to forget our part!
Anyone know where I can find a refresher course on good manners?!

Ever heard of a wall treatment called Anaglypta? This charming wall treatment has been around since the late 1800’s, and its application still continues to create a powerful character in any space today.
This embossed wall covering provides a dimensional texture, and is applied as is any wallpaper and transformed with paint or a faux treatment. In turn, it creates an incredible focal point in any room!
In 2002, Inhabit began to introduce a very Eco-Friendly green product, which they call Wall Flats. We love this product so much that we incorporated it into our 2011 ABC Kids Expo market display.

When decorating a space, flooring should never be an afterthought! It can have a huge impact on a room, and the right flooring can create just the atmosphere you’re striving for! Today, great looking floors are in abundance and within everyone’s reach. One of my favorite flooring options is the use of carpet tiles.
With a few simple tools and minimal cutting…carpet tiles can be used to create a variety of flooring motifs. I absolutely love the type of freedom that comes with decorating with carpet tiles… plus they are chic, eco- friendly, happy, and modern. What’s not to love?
