We’ve mentioned before how much we love Boon feeding products (see what we had to say about them
in our Baby Shower Gifts We Love to Give and Get
We recently caught up on all that Boon has to offer, and we are super excited about their modern take on endless practical innovations! Head here to take a look at their most recent catalog that had us all anxious to try out even more of their products. Such fun ideas for gifts, too!
A few of our current faves….
:: CLUTCH Dishwasher Basket
This handy little product is perfect for bottle parts, sippy cup valves, and all other small items that tend to float around without a home in the dishwasher.
:: MODSTER Sippy Cup
Our heads turned the second we saw the fun colors and monster shapes of these leak resistant sippys.
:: TWIG Drying Rack
We’re loving this perfect compliment to the Grass & Lawn Countertop Racks (which we already adore). Just the place to dry small pieces in style!
:: TRUNK Snack Boxes & STACK Snack Containers
Not only are these super cool looking…they’re also ultra convenient with compartments keeping food divided. Perfect for picnicking or travel, right?
:: PULP Silicone Feeder
How cool is this little gadget that allows babies to self-feed through small holes on their favorite fruits and vegetables? We’re wondering why we didn’t have this with frozen food for our teething babies?!
:: BUBBLES Suction Cup Bath Toys & DIVE TRAP & TRACE Bath Tub Appliques
Truly…we’re fans of all Boon bath toys…but, these are two that our kids have tried and have given the big thumbs up to! Kids love them…AND they don’t absorb water—preventing yucky mold and mildew buildup. Total winners!

| Our Ideas
Giving a useful baby gift that has originality and thoughtfulness can take some serious time and thought. One idea we suggest is building a gift set around a singular concept or theme. Doing this not only yields a creative and cohesive gift, but also leaves the recipient ultra-prepared and organized when it comes to that aspect of caring for baby. Piecing together multiple items for a gift set can also be a really fun way to personalize a gift as you cater to registries, personal taste, and the overall need of new parents.
Below you will find several ideas for practical and original baby gift sets… and depending on your price point, you can pick a couple of the items to pair together or give a mega-gift with all of the suggested items. These gift sets are particularly handy to keep in mind as they can be found fairly easily, and can be kept gender neutral or made gender specific.

It’s no secret that throughout pregnancy and after the arrival of a new baby… most of the attention is on the new mom. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with this (moms earn it, right?), it's only fair that dad can have a shining moment too! What better time to acknowledge a new dad than on Father’s Day? Whether as an expectant father or a new dad celebrating his first Father’s Day, here are some great gift ideas for the upcoming holiday!
Giving the gift of informational books is perfect for a new father. With so many new experiences on the horizon, and so much to know- equipping a father with some good reads is a great way for him to dip his feet into the waters of fatherhood.
for this author
Dad’s Favorite Children’s Books
We love the idea of gifting some children’s books to dad that are reminiscent of his childhood. If you know some of the books he read and enjoyed as a child, giving them as a gift is a sentimental gesture that will also help to stock up your child’s library.
Belly Buds are a relatively new gadget that adheres to the belly of a mom-to-be and play sounds directly into the womb. They are a favorite particularly among dads who travel often or who are away on long-term leave. With Belly Buds, voices can be recorded and then shared so the voice will be familiar and soothing to the baby once they are born. They are also fun for sharing your favorite music with baby.
A perfect gift for an active dad, the Strollometer is the first computer/speedometerthat that has been carefully designed to fit on any baby stroller. The Strollometer has several functions that help to track your running/walking speed, distance, and time.
Giving the gift of cameras and camcorders for Father’s Day is not only a great way to preserve family memories, but they are also fun gadgets that dad can have fun tinkering with. One simple and relatively inexpensive camera we love for gift giving is the Flip Video Ultra HD camcorder. It is one of the easiest and simplest camcorders you can get your hands on, and is perfect for capturing short clips. We love the convenient size, and the ease of use!
There are few gifts as meaningful as giving some precious photos to a new dad. Whether you choose to have some professional photos of your newborn taken for the occasion, or simply choose to print off some of your favorites from baby’s first days… dad will surely love being able to show them off!
One great option is to buy a digital frame and to pre-load it with pictures of your little one.
The Sony 8” Digital Photo Frame has an array of features, a high-quality picture display, and is easy to use. It holds up to 500 images, comes with a remote control, and supports most memory cards.
:: ROCKABYE BABY CDS
We are big time fans of the Rockabye Baby CDs (see Oilo’s post on Rockabye Baby CDs here), and we know a new dad will be as well. Substituting the sounds of drums and guitars with soothing bells and instruments, these CD’s take classic Rock N’ Roll tunes and turn them into a perfect soundtrack for baby. Dad will surely love these new renditions of AC/DC, Aerosmith, Dave Matthews Band, Green Day, Kanye West, Nirvana, Metallica, Pearl Jam, U2 and more!

Post pregnancy days can be filled with ups and downs, unpredictable behavior, and confusing emotions for a new mom. Two things I could be certain to count on during the early days of postpartum, were my Zella Live-In Leggings, and my Shimera PJ’s! Trust me when I say that stocking your arsenal with these items before baby comes will be one of the best things you can do for yourself.
:: Shimera Pajamas
After the arrival of baby, sleep becomes a precious commodity. Why not ensure the most comfortable sleep possible with the wonderful pajama options from Shimera? Plus- in the early days of motherhood, you never know just who might be seeing you in your jammies. Feel good about yourself any time of day in these awesome pieces.
The Shimera Everyday Pants are soft, fluid, and perfect for lounging without feeling sloppy. They are ultra-comfortable and non-constricting, making them perfect after delivery. One touch of these pants and you’ll quickly understand why they are a must-have! ($42 Nordstrom)
The Shimera Boxy Tee is the perfect complement to the Everyday Pants. It’s loose and light, with super-soft material… perfect for lounging or layering while still looking stylish! ($34 Nordstrom)
Lastly, every mommy-to-be needs a good bathrobe! Shimera’s Lightweight Knit Robe is made from the same high-quality fabric, is relaxed for a classic fit, and is just the right length! ($58 Nordstrom)
:: Zella Live-In Leggings
The Zella Live-In Leggings were my staple for the first 8 weeks after my baby was born! They are by far the most high-quality legging I have ever worn! Perfect for postpartum, they have a high waistband that holds you in comfortably. These leggings are reversible, don’t stretch out, and are flattering on all body types! These leggings are so versatile; you can literally wear them to work or to the gym! These just may be the best purchase you can make for yourself and your post-baby wardrobe! (Nordstrom $52)

With the recent arrival of my second baby, I have been unexpectedly thrilled with several products that are new to me this time around. It always amazes me how fast things change and improve in the baby product world! If only I had known about these awesome products with my first baby!
Here are a few of these recent finds that I have loved during the first weeks of my little one’s life!
:: Boba Wrap
The Boba Wrap (previously called the Sleepy Wrap) is a sling wrap for carrying babies from birth to 18 months. With no buckles, straps, or snaps, this wrap is comfortable for both you and your baby. It is worn snug against your body, giving your baby the reminiscent feeling of the womb. My baby absolutely loves moving around with me… all nestled in just like old times! The sling supports baby’s head and neck with the custom fit, and also braces hips and legs in a natural way. For my newborn, the Boba Wrap is an instant comforter. For me, it is a perfect way to soothe and/or carry my baby- while still being able to get around and use both of my hands!
Check out the Boba Wrap here.
:: Mama Roo
The Mama Roo by 4 Moms is a wonderful alternative to a swing. This comfortable chair has five different motions: Car Ride, Kangaroo, Tree Swing, Rock-a-Bye, and Ocean Wave. The Mama Roo was designed to move less like a swing and more like you do… offering a wonderful device for soothing that gives your arms a break! It also comes with 5 natural sound settings and the capability of connecting an MP3 player with your own favorite baby tunes. You’ll be amazed at the movement of this device as baby nestles right in for a comfy and content ride.
Visit 4 Moms and take a closer look at the Mama Roo here.
:: Luvable Friends Newborn Socks
If you’ve ever had a newborn, you probably know that finding socks that stay on is no easy task! Not only do they constantly fall off of your baby’s tiny feet, finding them in plain, neutral colors is nearly impossible. While there are several options out there for darling patterned and colored infant socks, I have always struggled to find basic white ones that don’t clash with my newborn’s wardrobe. Thankfully, on baby number two, I found a solution to both problems with Luvable Friend’s Newborn Socks. You can buy these white socks in a pack of 4 (in a washable sack, no less) for an incredibly affordable price, and I promise you….THEY STAY ON!
You can see more Luvable Friends products here.
Purchase this 4-Pack of White Luvable Friends socks on Amazon here.
:: Oilo Car Seat Canopy
This may seem like a shameless plug for a company that I obviously endorse, but truly, the Oilo Car Seat Canopy is on my list of essential faves this time around. Not only do I constantly receive compliments for the design, it also covers and protects my baby from the elements, peering strangers, and unwanted disturbances! I have so loved the elastic that fits snuggly against the back of the car seat and keeps the canopy securely in place. I also love how the material is long enough to not only cover the car seat, but can also be draped over a large part of my car seat- compatible-stroller as well.
* Available in Cobblestone-Taupe (pictured) and Modern Berries- Spring Green.

When it comes to parenting…finding wonderful products, tips, and ideas is one of our favorite things! Not only do we love making these discoveries, we equally love sharing them! One new find we can’t wait to share with you comes from the company, Citrus Lane. With so many new baby/toddler products constantly hitting the market, it can be difficult to keep up on them all and to know exactly what products you and your child will like. If you are looking for a great way to learn about and try new products for your baby as they grow- Citrus Lane offers you the perfect way to do just that!
Citrus Lane provides an easy and affordable way for you to discover and enjoy new products monthly. Each month, Citrus Lane follows a theme, and organizes gift boxes containing products that they love from brands they trust. Because they are committed to discovering the very best items on the market, their boxes are always filled with products that work great and fulfill realistic needs. Citrus Lane has several options for subscription, which include a monthly box delivered right to your doorstep full of these great products! One of the best parts is that they track the age of your baby from birth to 3 years old, and each box received is always tailored for your child’s current age and stage.
We love the idea of using these great boxes as gifts for others just as much as we love it as a gift for yourself! Talk about a gift that keeps on giving! Who wouldn’t love having a box of treasures showing up every month, ideal for the stage your child is currently going through? Packaged darling, and always full of useful surprises, these seem like just the thing to give a new mom a boost!
